Fatface have come a long way in 30 years. It’s been quite a journey – travelling from mountains to beaches, and from coastal towns to big cities.

For me they have long been one of my go-to brands; whether I am heading to Cornwall, beach-bound or heading off for that long-awaited holiday.  It would seem this year is no different when it comes to them nailing effortless summer-style.  There’s a serious selection of summer essentials and swimwear this season, and I feel so lucky to be able to show you my favourite picks, for wherever you are heading off on an adventure this summer…

From Day to Night//

This outfit is a complete winner for the summer months.  As soon as I saw this skirt I knew it was my style…

Black and yellow make an eye-catching summertime combo…

I absolutely adore this Alana button skirt; a relaxed cotton midi with a catching Ikat design.  I am not usually one for black and white, but add a pop of colour with this and it becomes perfect for a summers day.  The fit of the skirt is flattering without clinging, and it fits perfectly to give you a defined waistline.  The button detail down the front is a key trend this summer and creates a really nice detail to the skirt.  I chose to style it with the Stella cami top in sunflower yellow, which I tucked in, but looks equally beautiful when eleft untucked and worn with denim shorts or jeans.  I can easily see myself wearing this for beach days, family BBQ’s and then straight on into an evening with friends.

Perfect for beach days and evenings.

That All-Important Cover up//

As we all know, the great British summertime can’t always be relied of for beaming sunshine and balmy evenings (However optimistic we might be feeling!).  Which is why it’s always great to have a back-up plan…

Supersoft denim makes this a relaxed jacket that’s fun to style with so many outfits.

For me, the Tasha Denim Jacket is all I will need to see me through those summer evenings.  It’s versatile, and easy to add to any outfit for when it’s time to head out the door.  I really love wearing it with a skirt and top, and it’s certainly something I will wear into the Autumn.  I usually always keep a jacket with me on days out, no matter what the weather, and this one is made of the softest “worn-in” feeling denim, so it feels as though I have already had it for years.  I think a good denim jacket is definitely a wardrobe staple for the summer season, and this one is a real gem!

Boris, always getting in on the Summer adventures…

Something Special//

It’s fair to say, I am a sucker for a pretty dress (whatever the occasion!) and this one totally caught my eye. This one is part of the ‘Copper & Black’ range; it’s FatFace as you know and love it, made extra special, for special occasions.  Picture a warm, sunny afternoon spent at a beautiful garden party… The collection really does deserve a closer look as it’s full of the most delicate details and prettiest touches…

Summer is the perfect excuse to get together with friends; garden parties, beach BBQs and enjoying those all-important long summer evenings whenever possible.  Dresses are a must (any day of the week!) and this Alexis Paisley Dress is a summer dream come true.   It’s so comfortable to wear, and the cut is just brilliantly flattering.  Made from floaty chiffon, this beautifully cotton-lined dress is the perfect day to evening solution.  I can see myself wearing it for a summer party, or a day at the races and it looking equally at home with either flats or heels…… or barefoot for that matter?!  No tricky zips or fastenings, this dress has a simple button at the back of the neck and you can just pop it straight over your head.  I love the waist line and the tie detail, it’s just in the right place and creates a wonderful silhouette.  I have a feeling this has just become my next special occasion dress, and I cannot wait to wear it again!

Ruffled sleeves and an adjustable waist tie. This dress is about delicate details.

A button fastening at the back of the neck creates a keyhole detail.

Full cotton lining means you’ll keep super-cool this summer!

I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of barefoot dress swishing?!

Comfort and Style//

Let’s be clear, I am never one for uncomfortable shoes  or heavy bags in the warmer weather (no matter how pretty they are!. These two pieces provide the perfect solution…

Summer is the time I seek out stylish sandals that will look perfect paired with a summer dress or a pair of shorts.  If they cut or rub, I simply won’t give them the time of day, and so it’s not often I find a pair that don’t need ‘wearing in’.  Until these.  The Penny Plaited Slider Sandals are super-soft and so comfy to wear.  I love that they suited both of the outfits I styled, and being leather you could wear them almost any occasion.  Beach? Brunch? Bar? Absolutely!

When it’s hot I always try to wear a cross body bag when I can.  I think especially when I am out and about, or standing at an event; I hate having to have a free hand to carry a bag with me.  This Suede Circle Bag (with adjustable cross-body strap) is the perfect solution.  Big enough to carry all of your essentials, and stylish enough to wear for an evening out, it ticks a lot of boxes for me.  Being supersoft suede it’s also very comfortable to wear across your shoulder and doesn’t cut in.  I am more of a tan/brown leather kind of gal’ so this suits my style and I think it’s really wearable with so many pieces from my wardrobe.  If I were still a young hip and happening festival goer (let’s face it, I never was…) I would say this was the perfect bag to take with you through the crowds as it’s got plenty of room and that all important zip!

Such a comfy and practical bag to wear for evenings out…

I am really looking forward to wearing these outfits over the course of  the remaining weeks of this unusually hot summer we are having (I do hope I haven’t cursed that now…)!  All of the Fatface pieces in this edit are available online and in store now.

So I suppose the only question is….What will your next adventure be?
